Mary Ellen Kenny Baker

I moved to Northern California during my sophomore year. I have been so lucky to remain friends with Debbie Sullivan Levin, Patrice Henry Mitchell,Joni Esser Gregg, Janet Lennon Bahler and Clare Stang Walsh. After graduating from Holy Names I attended Cal Poly Pomona for a while and then returned to the Bay Area to help out with some social issues that were going on at that time. In 1968 I married the love of my life, Fred Baker. We raised two amazing, wonderful children- Michelle and Kenny(yes my maiden name lives on).

In 1980 I decided to break the “glass ceiling” at the Sara Lee Corp. and become one of the first female sales development managers in their meat division….no pies and cakes for me…I would soon become the Hillshire sausage queen! The 90’s found me part of the Fidelity National Financial team in Northern California.

In November 2007 my world came crashing down when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and died six weeks later. I worked a few more years and realized that I had the proverbial two page bucket list and decided to check off a few items. So with my crazy wonderful friends and family I have seen the Sox play at Fenway, gone to a Cubs game, spent a month in Croatia, took in the sights of Boston, Nashville,New York, Washington DC, Charleston, and even saw a NASCAR race at Daytona. I am currently enjoying what life has to offer.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on September 13 and thanks again for including me!
